Деветнаесетото Светско првенство ќе се одигра на десет стадиони во девет градови. Чест да биде домаќин на собирот на 32-те најдобри репрезентации на светот ја имаше Јужна Африка. Земјите учеснички се поделени во 8 групи со по 4 репрезентации, а двете првопласирани продолжуваат во осминафиналето каде почнува и нок-аут фазата до последниот натпревар.
